Hi, I'm Jess!! Wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunty, friend AND photographer. All these wonderful titles and the life stories they hold has me convinced that – Life is amazing!
I grew up on farms in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, and in the Brisbane Valley, where I gained a love of landscape and natural beauty. I am now located in Griffin, Brisbane and though I miss the country scenery every day, I have surround myself with gorgeous memories, printed in vibrant colour, of the days my family and I have refreshed our soul in the country air. The sky, the stars, the mountains, and the trees (hence the business name – read more here), have me in awe, and I could easily sit all day and just soak them in.
When I was 16, I held in my hands my very first manual film camera and immediately fell in love. It wasn’t until a decade later, after many office jobs and dirty nappies, that I realised I could actually do something with this love of photography, nature and memories.
Now in the age of digital photography, we are overwhelmed with digital media. Our smart phone are filled with 50 pictures of one moment and maybe 100 more of a Peppa Pig tv show curtesy of our kids. I wonder in this time of hyper-access if we are losing our sense of wonder for purposeful moments of memories caught on film. Digital photography is a rewarding medium and I now shoot with both digital and film cameras allowing ultimate artistic work.

My love for
Black & White
photography is huge
If I had my way, 90% of my galleries would be black and white images. Don’t get me wrong, I love colour. Colour intrigues me. But I feel like you can see deeper into the image when it is black and white. It is like your brain doesn’t have to contend with extra information and can just really hone in on those little details and feel deeply what the image is saying.
