What do you get that person who seems to have everything? Chocolate and socks just don’t cut it. You want to give something meaningful yet everything in the stores just seem so impersonal. If you are like me, you just don’t feel like giving gifts that don’t have meaning. When I can’t find something in the store that is just right, or I can’t make something that is perfect for them, I turn to photography. Read ahead as I share with you 3 ways you can use photography as your go to gift idea this year.

portrait prints
In my experience, grandmothers/mothers always love printed photos of their loved ones. If you have had a recent family portrait session or you have a lovely photo of something that she would love, arrange to have these printed and framed. Most professional photographers have multiple ways to display there work in print. Canvas, framed prints and albums are popular options, however there are more modern options such as metal and wood prints and various photo box or folio displays. You can see what printed products I have on offer here.
If you aren’t able to print these images through your photographer make sure you reach out to them for advice on who to print through. It is important to print your photos and it is equally important where you get them printed. This is one instance where quality is imperative.
" It is more blessed to give than to receive "

photography gift vouchers
Everyone deserves great photos of themselves. Gifting someone the opportunity to feel good about themselves is beyond satisfying. These vouchers may be for a particular photo session or it may be a certain dollar value to go towards a photographic service of their choice. You can see what photographic services I offer here. All my services can be purchased and gifted via gift vouchers. You can send me a message for details on purchasing.
Don’t forget those budding photographers in your life – have you considered gifting a voucher for photography lessons?
photo gifts
These gifts are very similar to number 1 (portrait prints) however I consider these to be more practical. These photo gifts can be purchased from most photo printing establishments like Office Works, Camera House and Big W etc, or online printers such as Canva, etsy or Vista Print. However I think the best photo gifts are handmade. It is a fun activity for you to do and it is a meaningful gift.
When I say that they are more practical, I am thinking about the photo gifts that you can use every day – calendars, drink coasters, mugs, keychains. These gifts are a bit more fun and you will probably want to use photos off of your camera roll rather than professional portraits. One year I made a photo Rubik’s cube as a gift. I don’t think it was ever played with, but it was put on display as it showed off that person’s treasured family photos. Can you think of other fun and creative ways to share/gift photos so that they aren’t lost in your computer or phone gallery?
No matter how you gift using photography, you know that they will be cherished. Photo gifts are personal and meaningful. Use your imagination to think up some creative ways to incorporate photography into your gift giving. I love Pinterest for inspiration and tutorials for handmade gifts and unique ways to display photos. What is your favourite way to display or gift photos?
If you want to purchase a voucher to gift or
you want to arrange a portrait session for yourself, I would
